Domestic Transfers
Safely and securely transfer funds within the United States and territories.
There is a $15 fee for this service.

INTERNATIONAL WIRE INSTRUCTIONS
International Transfers
To wire funds overseas, you can send the money in U.S. dollars or foreign currency. Please contact the payee for their financial institution's wiring instructions to ensure the money reaches the intended destination. There is a $60 fee for this service.

Please note, NASA Federal only receives U.S. currency. For international transfers, we ask that you instruct the sending financial institution to use a corresponding bank to facilitate the transfer to your account, as NASA Federal is not part of the SWIFT network.

FAQs
What is a Wire Transfer?
A wire transfer is a type of electronic payment service for transferring funds between financial institutions via wire through the Federal Reserve, the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) network or the
Clearing House Interbank Payment System (CHIPS).
While NASA Federal only handles wire transfers through the Federal Reserve System, we are able to process international wire transfers through our dedicated correspondent
bank.
What are SWIFT, BIC, IBAN and CLABE number and where can I find them?
The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) and Bank Identifier Codes (BIC) are used to locate and identify financial institutions primarily overseas.
An International Bank Account Number (IBAN)
is a series of alphanumeric characters that uniquely identifies an account held predominately by banks in Eurozone countries. Clave Bancaria Estandarizada (CLABE) is a standard 18-digit number for bank accounts in Mexico.
You can obtain any of these numbers by asking the intended payee for their wiring instructions.
How are exchange rates calculated for sending funds in foreign currency?
We partner with a correspondent bank to provide exchange rates for converting funds. This rate factors the cost of exchanging the funds in addition to the actual exchange rate. Prior to sending funds to be converted, you'll be quoted an exchange rate, which will include the total amount to be received. At this point, you'll have the option to agree to or decline the quoted rate. Once agreed to and authorized by you, the rate is "locked" in and will be sent according to that agreed upon rate.
Can I cancel a wire?
Yes, we can cancel the wire if it's still at NASA Federal. Please call us at 1-888-NASA-FCU (627-2328) to cancel your transaction.

Federal law requires that we obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. As such, we ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also request to see your driver's license and/or other identifying documentation. Additional information may also be required, depending on the country to which you're sending funds. There may be a delay in the transferring of funds as a result of this verification.
